Buying Tickets On eBay - Getting The Genuine Article

Are you finding it difficult to get hold of tickets for a big event you want to see? If you are, then it may be worth your while thinking about using eBay as a resource to find the tickets to any event that you want to go to. However, you need to be aware that not everyone who is selling such items of eBay is offering you the genuine article.

Therefore, before you go handing over your money, you need to make sure that you are buying from a seller who is honest. Plus you need to make sure that they are going to be sending out the genuine article and they are providing you with what you are looking for when it comes to seating. There are a number of steps that you can take which can help to ensure that you get what you have paid for.

Making Sure The Tickets You Get Are Genuine

The first thing you want to do is check out the seller. EBay offers a great seller feedback program and rating program that will help you in deciding if this is the seller for you. Look at their history, have they sold tickets before? Look at their feedback; were they prompt and honest with their buyers? Did buyers get what they paid for? This is why the feedback system is designed for. You want to make sure that you are purchasing from someone who has a feedback with an overall rating of 97% to 100%. One or two bad reviews amongst hundreds is not necessary a sign of bad things to come.

Also the description provided with the tickets should immediately tell you its own story. In the description there should be details of the date when the event takes place, some more details about where the event is being held and where the seating for the event is located. You may also find that the seller provides the venue name and may provide a map of the venue showing exactly where the seating in relation to the tickets is.

Know what you should be expected to pay. Most people are not allowed, by law, to sell the ticket for more than its worth. Do your homework. Research the event itself, the venue, and know what the prices are for tickets prior to bidding.

If something does not seem right or you still need to know something, do not hesitate to write the seller. EBay provides you with a way to contact the seller to ask questions if you still have some.

Some sellers will chose to upload a digital or scanned photograph of the actual tickets. In some cases, it will be accompanied by a receipt showing proof of purchase or some other avenue of authentication. This is ideal, but not always provided, except in the case of tickets that are high priced.

You should at all times trust your instincts and if you feel that something isn't right then avoid making a bid on those tickets. Also when you do finally win the auction for those tickets you were after make sure that you use a trusted form of payment, such as PayPal or a credit card. With PayPal you have the added bonus of being provided with a Buyer Protection facility which means that you and the money you have paid over is protected if something untoward occurs and you don't get your tickets.
