Start Your Own Money Making Business as an eBay Affiliate
Right now, you might be asking what an eBay affiliate program really is? Well, the answer is quite simple indeed. When someone clicks on a link within your website, and they go to eBay and sign up or buy anything, you make money from commissions.
Ebay provides a somewhat brief tutorial and great tools devoted to helping you set up your links and/or RSS feeds to design into your website. If you become a member of the most innovative and successful affiliate program on the Web and drive your traffic to eBay, you will earn 50% to 75% commission on eBay's revenue from every sale made from that customer and $25 to $35 commissions per each new active member that signs up.
Now don't confuse this with making a percentage of the total sale. You are only making commissions on what eBay makes in profits from the sale. For instance, say you send someone to eBay from your website. They sign up as a new member, and then bid on a product that is $100 and win. Then let's suppose eBay's profit from this sale is $10. You would make a portion (most often 50% to 75%) of that profit amount.
As an estimate, you would make $7.50 commission (if it's 75%) from the sale, $25 or $35 from the sign-up from the new member, for a total of $32.50 to $42.50 (just keep in mind these figures are ONLY examples, not to be taken as hard fact.) It almost seems unfair doesn't it? Because you are doing nothing other than sending someone to the eBay site...you are not storing inventory, there is no shipping, no dropshipping, and no nasty customers or bad ratings. Everyone else does the hard work, and make a profit from it.
How do you increase your sales/earnings? Simple, this is what eBay suggests: Get more traffic to your website. To accomplish this, paid search traffic might be an option that you consider, however natural search engine traffic resulting from optimization can be a free way to do this.
DO these things to get more traffic: 1. Make sure you have plenty of unique content 2. Relevant keywords should be used multiple times in the content of all pages 3. Search Engines and users alike are attracted to changing content. Update regularly! 4. Use file names and URL's that are not overly lengthy, which will let search engines crawl your site more frequently 5. Use Page Titles and Title Tags...6-10 keywords that are relevant to be found throughout the page 6. Use phrases such as "Search on eBay now!" rather than "Click Here! " to increase the effectiveness of your links 7. To guide surfers that are 'lost', make good use of error pages. 8. Make sure the search engines know you exist by submitting to them manually 9. Try to get similar websites to link to your website 10. Learn more about online marketing by analyzing the competition. Things NOT to do: 1. Use frames. They are many times unrecognizable by search engine crawlers and hard to index. 2. Use invisible/hidden text. NEVER do this, search engines can and will hurt your rankings and effectiveness 3. Use multiple drop-down menus or search box navigation boxes...they can not be followed by crawlers.
With just a little effort, you can earn a lot of money in the eBay Affiliate Program. All you have to do is drive traffic to eBay. This can be done by creating your own store, which is mostly for advanced users that can insert eBay's RSS feeds and code from the editor kit into your website code. Or you can find a company that will set up a personal website for you with the code already included.
With eBay affiliate stores, it is probable that you will see great results in very small amounts of time. If created the correct way, your site will have converting products, and powerful, unique content that will be forever updating and changing, which is what the search engine crawlers are very fond of. Which means ultimately that you will be profiting from good, natural traffic from targeted keywords and niches.
