Read This Before You Decide to Convert to A Water Powered Car

The soaring gas prices or gas crisis as some are calling it, have caused me to research alternative fuel options. Let's face the fact that the prices are not going to decrease anytime soon. Car dealerships are actually using cheap gas as an incentive to purchase a new car. That's a little troubling. When I moved to GA in 2000, I remember being excited about the gas being .15 cents cheaper than in northeast where I migrated from. At the time I drove a small two door Toyota and still tell people of the day I filled up my tank for $11.00! Those days are long gone.

Over the past few years the gas prices have been rising but there didn't seem to be a real need to use an alternative fuel car. I admit to complaining about the prices, but I didn't start scrambling for ways to increase gas mileage or think I needed an alternative to gas car. When gas prices hit $4.00 a gallon the scrambling time arrived. Now, I'm not an economist but with the state of the economy I have to dig deep (pun intended) for a cheaper way to fuel my car. I make a modest living have a wife, two kids and drive roughly 40 miles round trip to my office.

I would love to ride a bike to work or walk but like I mentioned, it's 40 miles. Public transportation would save money but the inconvenience of having to re-schedule my day for the stops that are made aren't good since my work schedule can change on a whim. Buying a new hybrid car is not in the current budget. So that brings me to my newest discovery. Convert my car to a hybrid and use a water powered engine. Initially I laughed when my mechanic told me about this 'water car' concept.

Incredibly, many progressive thinkers detail how using water as fuel increases gas mileage, uses better fuel consumption and emits less harmful emissions. Car manufacturers can't tell everyone how to run your car on water because of the amount of money that would be lost to the big oil companies if the transition were standard.

There's a way to use electricity from the battery to split the water molecule and create a gas called Brown's Gas. Another name for this reaction is called hydroxyl. It's like making a hydrogen generator, the car actually runs smoother, produces less emissions and increases fuel efficiency. Only a quart of water is needed and apparently lasts for months.

There are many manuals and do-it-yourself kits available that detail the items needed from the hardware store. Expect to spend around sixty dollars for everything. Don't worry about being a mechanic to complete the job because it is not that intensive. Converting the car to use water as fuel can be switched back at any time to run on gas.

If this works then it would pay for itself in a month or so and the savings would continue for as long as the gas crisis. Some of the benefits are an increase gas mileage, increase in your car's fuel efficiency which of course saves you money at the gas station. The other great part about converting your engine is the government can't put any extra tax on you for running your car on water. If we don't find ways to get better mpg the cost of all consumer goods will continue to rise. Alternative fuel sources will have to be considered by everyone that's concerned with a struggling economy.

High gas prices are forcing everyone to consider how wasteful we are. If water powered engines take over the streets, you get your money back in a couple of months after the initial investment for the manual and parts. In this instance the benefits far outweigh the cost. Alternative fuel sources will gain popularity as the months go on. We can only hope this doesn't go so far to stop us all from getting out there and traveling to enjoy friends and family this summer.
