Should People be Drinking Coffee?
Why is there so much controversy about drinking coffee? If it were that bad for you why do people consume it daily? Why are there so many coffee shops out there with more opening their doors every day? It can be hard for a person to really know how bad coffee is for them. This is because the information on it seems to go in all directions. In the end though only you can decide if it is right for you or not.
One of the scariest reports out there is that coffee may be linked to heart disease. Since this isn't good news what are people to do? Well, the reality of it is that drinking coffee alone isn't going to create heart disease. There are many other factors including heredity, your diet, stress, and how much exercise you get on a regular basis.
Things such as heart disease and high cholesterol are linked to drinking coffee if you read some of the reports. Yet what is often omitted with such findings is the rest of the lifestyle choices those individuals were making. It also doesn't tell you if these health issues run in their family or not. If that is the case then you may not be able to control if you get them regardless on how much coffee you consume.
One issue linked to drinking coffee that has been proven to be true though is weight gain. You will be surprised how many people stick to a diet very well except for when it comes to their coffee. Several cups of it daily with goodies such as cream and sugar and the additional calories really start to add up. Yet not everyone is satisfied with plain black coffee.
Do you drink coffee to get energy? If so then this is something you will likely be criticized for. The experts are always pushing to eat something high in protein, take a brisk walk, or to get more exercise if you need more energy. Anyone working overtime, driving late at night, or studying for hours will attest to the fact that a pot of coffee will do wonders for getting you through it.
There have been plenty of studies done on how coffee affects the body. Yet the results are all across the board. This is a type of drink that is different for each person. The amount the drink, what they drink, and even their body chemistry all affect it. If you don't feel right after you drink coffee then you should consider stopping. Other than that you should feel you have the right to continue doing so in moderation.
This information is something you should share with your own doctor. Let them know how much coffee you drink. Let them know how you feel when you drink it as well as what your overall level of activity is. Since you should be seeing a doctor you trust you will likely respect their feedback on the issue of drinking coffee.
The verdict is still out as to how bad coffee really is for you. If you consume a couple of cups each day you really have nothing to worry about. Focus more on a healthy lifestyle which will include a balanced diet and exercising for at least 30 minutes each day. Drink plenty of water and work to reduce your level of stress. Then you can enjoy your coffee and not worry about it too much.
