Personal Tanning Problems Can Bring You New Customers

There are many mistakes out there that occur when a person is attempting to get a tan. They will often turn to a tanning salon out of desperation to take care of them. Some owners aren't willing to help out unless that person is already a customer. They don't train their staff to effectively handle these issues when someone one calls or comes into the business.

Yet these types of tanning mishaps should be viewed as opportunities for you to generate more business. You already know they are interested in getting a great tan and if you help them out they will be more likely to start tanning in your salon. They will never forget how you helped them and that gives you credibility. It also can lead to them becoming a loyal customer.

Not everyone that has time to tan outdoors is able to do so. In fact many fair skin people think they can't get a tan at an indoor location either. As a result they don't check it out. Yet you can help offer some tips to soothe their red and burned skin. Let them know that they can spend a few minutes in an indoor taking bed and not burn. They can continue to add more time as their body adjusts. Even with a few minutes a day they can get a great looking tan with the use of an accelerator.

If you offer UV free tanning methods it may be a better option for them. They can return after their redness goes away and they are no longer in pain. They can step into a booth and get an overall tan in just a few minutes. This can last about 7-10 days for them. Caution them to continue using a high SPF in the natural sunlight so they won't get sunburned like that anymore.

There are plenty of products advertised that people can buy at the store to put on a fake tan at home. The ads make it look very easy but that isn't always they case. Streaking is a very common problem. Areas around the knees and elbows that don't match well can make you look dirty in those areas. A very common tanning problem that people have from this is an orange tint to their skin instead of a tan color.

The first order of business is to let them know you can help. They need to remove as much of the fake tanning product as possible. Explain that they need to exfoliate with some lemon juice added to soap and water. Once they have done so they can come in for a sunless tan from a booth you have or even an airbrushing process.

Try to schedule them an appointment later that day to get in. If you are completely booked tell them that you will stay later so they can get it done or even offer them an appointment first thing in the morning if possible. They are going to want to improve their look as quickly as possible. This is also a great opportunity for your to promote sunless tanning products you offer that do work.

Tanning mishaps like these can turn people to your tanning salon. Are you going to help them or simply turn them away? Chances are that if you take the time to help them they will be come a faithful customer. They will see that your tanning opportunities are a much better fit for their needs. They will also really appreciate your efforts to come to their rescue in such a time of need.
