Things To Know About HEPA Air Purifiers

More and more we see on television, and hear on the radio, that we need to look after ourselves better. We are being bombarded with information on how to become fit and healthy so that we can lead long productive lives. Eating more healthy food and increasing the amount of exercise we do are just two of the most obvious ways we can improve our quality of life. One of the less obvious ways is to use air purifiers.

For those of us who suffer from allergies will, most probably, already know that suffers of hay fever and the likes can vastly improve things by using an air purifier, or, more specifically, HEPA Air Purifiers. Hay fever can be an absolute nightmare to cope with. Your eyes may be sore and the roof of your mouth itchy and, with many other horrible symptoms it generally feels as though you have instantly started with a terrible cold.

Every house has a selection of electronic gadgets these days and my favorite has to be air purifiers. These gadgets suck up air, through a filter and out again. Through this simple process they are able to remove any airborne pollutants in the room in which they are situated.

HEPA air purifiers are amongst the most effective available and the only type you should consider buying if you have an allergy such as hay fever. Although HEPA filters are usually far more expensive that the cheaper purifiers which you may see for around $20 you will be surprised at how cheap they have become in recent years.

Choosing the most suitable air purifiers is relatively easy because all you really need to do is measure the room in which it is to be placed so that you can purchase a machine capable of cleaning that amount of air. You will notice that some air purifiers appear very cheap whereas others can cost more than $1,000. This is because air purifiers are price in relation to how much air they can process. The more air that can be cleaned in a given amount of time the more expensive the machine.

The reason why HEPA air purifiers are the best is that the filters have to be able to remove nearly all pollutants (99.97%) from the air that are above 0.3 micrometers in size. Annoyingly the filters themselves can bot be cleaned and will need to be replaced every now and these filters are more expensive than the ordinary ones.

Some of the better purifiers have a clever system to ensure that the expensive filters do not need to be replaced as often. By having a filtration system that first filters the air using cheap filters the machine can ensure that most of the pollutants are removed prior to the second filtration using the HEPA filters. This means that the HEPA filters do not have to work as hard cleaning the air and therefore last much longer saving lots of money in the long term.

I am sure you are beginning to realize that spending your hard earned cash on anything but a HEPA machine would be rather foolish, especially if you have allergies to airborne substances. Other cheaper machines can be great for removing unwanted smells such as tobacco smoke but if you really need to ensure that such things as pollen are removed you really do need the benefits that only a HEPA filter can give.
