Dr. Joe Vitale is the president of Hypnotic Marketing, Inc., is an expert in the Law of Attraction, and was featured in both the movie and book called "The Secret". His own books include "The Attractor Factor, 5 Easy Steps for Creating Wealth (or Anything Else) from the Inside Out", "Life's Missing Instruction Manual: The Guidebook You Should Have Been Given at Birth", and "Zero Limits: The Secret Hawaiian System for Wealth, Health, Peace, and More".
Equally successful as his books, Joe has also produced a number-one bestselling audio program, "The Power of Outrageous Marketing". He is, in fact, the world's first hypnotic marketer, so it's no surprise he has made millions of dollars, and in the process made millionaires and improved the lives of people all over the world.
Joe Vitale has always wanted to be a writer. The drive hit him hardest in his teenage years when he was captivated by the series "The Twilight Zone". He was confident that whoever was behind the stories must be some sort of god-like creature. He was a bit disappointed when he got the chance to meet Rod Serling in person, because he realized the phenomenon was written by a human. It inspired him, though. He knew he could write just as well as a fellow human.
Why is Joe Vitale so successful? People ask him that question a lot, and his response is always the same: he follows his driving enthusiasm. Whatever his interest at the time, a person, place, or thing, he follows it. He never knows where he's going when he follows his passions. He only knows he's following his heart.
One of Joe Vitale's interests was in a man named Bruce Barton, who was the founder of BBDO. He wanted to learn as much as possible, so Joe researched him for two years. Afterwards, he wrote a very successful book "The Seven Lost Secrets of Success", which has since been printed approximately 20 times. He didn't follow Barton with the expectation of writing a book. The book was simply a result of the passion he followed.
There aren't too many people in this world who can follow their passions and immediately quit their "day job". Most people struggle for quite some time and lose a lot of money and sleep in the process. Joe is no different. He was poverty-stricken at times, and he had to get meaningless jobs at times to provide for his wife and himself. The dream of writing was never far from his mind, though.
The key to overcoming is to figure out what's holding you back. Joe had an inward struggle. No one in his family was into books. No one wrote books. No one had a passion for reading. He was the outsider. It took a move of 2,000 miles for Joe to get far enough from the struggle to overcome his issues with poverty.
Each of us has a reason why we hit an income ceiling. It's usually an unconscious reason. Until you figure out what your reason is, you'll be stuck. For Joe, he realized his ceiling was his father's railroad worker income. What would it say about his father working countless hours for little pay if Joe worked very little for a large payoff? Only after he overcame that mental battle was he able to make real wealth.
