Probably the most money you will spend for a single day will be that for your wedding; with an average day costing around 25,000 dollars it accounts for why the industry is worth an astonishing 25 billion dollars. This figure is not surprising when people hire expensive limousines, florists, caterers and stationery, not to mention the cost of outfits for the day; you can still have a wonderful day even though it might be a cheap wedding although you might not be convinced yet! However, sometimes all that is needed is some help with the planning to help lower that total; which should make for an exciting, memorable day without the financial pain.

The largest single cost is that of the wedding reception but even here savings are possible; with an average of just under two hundred guests attending it is easy to see how you can reduce the financial burden for your cheap wedding. Reducing the number of people who attend, including distant relatives or friends you haven't been in contact with for years, will help enormously; you can even carry out some of the catering yourself and have a hot and cold buffet style meal instead of a four courses.
Other cost reductions can be made in where the wedding reception is held; it could take place in a friend's house or a local club where money could be saved on beverages if they are supplied directly.
Wedding Photographs and Photographers
Although many photographers are employed for the entire day, this isn't really necessary; the majority of guests are more than happy to take photos on behalf of the couple, and they will be 'natural' shots as well! If you really want to be 'avant guard', why pay for a photographer at all; these days most people know someone who is a keen, capable amateur photographer, and there is nothing wrong with asking them to take photos throughout the whole day.

Cutting down on costs can also mean creating your own wedding invitations and seating cards etc; a personal computer combined with a home printer means it is quite easy to produce very professional looking results. With the correct programs, all the work can be checked fully before it is printed out; this means that often costly errors and adjustments that are often required in the early stages of the work are not made.
The Wedding Flowers
If you want to reduce the cost of flowers, then how about this for an option; why not visit the local flower wholesaler where huge savings are possible, then all that's needed is a little imagination when it comes to the display. Many people have friends who are very capable cooks and love to bake so why not let them bake a two or three tier wedding cake; this can be made from sponge or even a chocolate cake which tends to be favorite amongst people these days.
The Wedding Transportation
Lastly, instead of a limousine why not rent a car or borrow a luxury car from a friend or relative; most will be pleased to help.
Measures like this could mean that the savings made on a cheap wedding can be invested else where, like a new home; now that is something that will last much longer.
