6 Things You Need To Know To Get Your Articles Read

We all know that writing articles is the best way to build long term traffic to our sites, but many people would rather chop off their arm with a hatchet that sit down and write articles. They think it's too much work which will only be wasted when no one reads the damn thing anyway. On the other side of the fence, some people think reading those articles is a tedious chore since the article is boring and bland. Articles exist to be read and enjoyed. An unread article truly was a waste of the author's time.

To be sure the articles you write get read and enjoyed, here are 6 simple techniques to keep your audience reading:

1) Use short paragraphs.

Long paragraphs jumble the mind of the reader before they get started. If it looks like work to read your article, your reader will give up and quickly jump past that offending paragraph and move on to easier reading. Keep them short. Even as small as one sentence or one word. Keep the reading on an eighth grad level

2) Use numbers and bullets.

Numbers or bullets make your point easy to follow, remember and digest. Readers will see this is the heart of the article.Their attention can flow easily down the structure of your article. Format your bullets and numbers so your article doesn't appear like a single block of square paragraphs. Throw in a little bit of flair attention to the shape of your articles. At least on the ones where the format is under your control.

3) Sub-divide your paragraphs too.

This will break each point into easy to digest sections that would still be incorporated into one whole article. It will be easy for your reader to move from one point to the next. You will hold your reader's attention long enough to get your point across.

4) Write a good attention-grabbing title or headline.

Study the work of successful copywriters. When your title incites curiosity you have gone halfway toward winning the battle for your prospect's attention and getting your article read. Statements and questions which include keywords people are looking for should start each paragraph. Describe your article's content in subtitles in a short and concise manner.

Use titles like, "7 Tips To Make Her Want You More", or "The Secret To Making Her Swoon and Blush Guaranteed". You could also use titles that command people, such as "Make Her Yours In Six Easy Steps". Your titles should stand out in a crowd without much effort.

5) Keep up a fast pace.

Use stories and real situations to draw in your reader. Descriptive language and the use of metaphors can keep your reader's interest while you make your point. Don't go overboard with flowery language, though, just to build up your word count. People still want the information quickly.

6) Use specific facts and numbers when you can. Keep away from ordinary and weak statements.

Your article will be stronger and more authoritative when you include specific facts and figures. But shy away from being too formal. This is not a doctoral thesis.

Writing a good article doesn't have to be a chore. These are just a few points to keep in mind, some simple guidelines to follow. Once you get the hang of it, writing articles can be fun, and extremely profitable.
