North Cyprus property - A Dream of an Investment
There is an ever-growing tendency in Europe, particularly among the British, to orientate their investments and their holiday plans towards the beautiful North of Cyprus. This tendency is explained by the numerous advantages that this country provides both for its tourists and for its business owners and investors.
The northern part of Cyprus possesses a unique architecture. Indeed, this country combines numerous styles, the old combining with the new and the traditional combining with the modern. These elements are all attractive for both tourists and real estate investors who are ever more interested in properties in North Cyprus.
According to certain sources from Assyria, dating back to the 7th century BC, Nicosia was at one time a city called Ledra. In about 300 BC, Lefkos, the son of Egyptian King Ptolemy Soter I, rebuilt it and his name is immortalised in the modern Turkish name Lefkosa. The more recent Frankish name of Nicosia is considered to have appeared later on in the 12th century.
These include elements like the exotic weather, the warm climate, the continental climatic features, the traditions, the culture, the history, all fused together in a subtle manner so as to create a special, unique place. These facts are very important, especially since they constitute the very important reasons for which many people choose North Cyprus as their favorite travel destination.
North Cyprus properties are especially notable since they are not quite as exotic as those in the south of the country. However, the fusion of northern and southern influences together with the mixture of weather, relief and unique cultural characteristics from these two parts, make the region a very attractive option. Indeed, North Cyprus is a truly original area, and provides a unique blend of all the climatic features, landscape, culture and everything else that goes to make Cyprus what it is.
Let's take as an example the ancient town of Kyrenia, founded in the 10th century BC by settlers from Achaea. Kyrenia was for many centuries one of the kingdoms of Cyprus. In the 7th century Kyrenia was then further developed by the Byzantines who built the castle. Under the ensuing Ottoman Empire, Kyrenia was still only a minor port. But under the British the well-known harbor and quay were built. A thoroughly attractive, calm and leisurely air pervades the town, ideal as a place for relaxing captains, officers and their families. All in all, quite a delightful town and wonderful tourist attraction.
As you can see, it is also very important to consider the attractions that North Cyprus holds for its many tourists and also for investors who seek out this country looking for something just that little bit different. And so this should all be taken into account when looking for reasons as to why so many foreigners choose to live there and make it their home.
So taken as a whole, we may consider northern Cyprus to be indeed one of the most popular travel destinations and investor attractions in the Mediterranean. It is certainly a place never to be overlooked when looking for that special, unique holiday destination, offering just that little bit extra.
