Deer Hunting Tips for Beginners

If you have just started hunting deer, some tips from more experienced hunters can really help you become what you have dreamed of. Of all the good ones you may hear, the following deer hunting tips are the basic ones for beginners just like you.

* Earlier Can Be Better

Timing is very important in the game of hunting. Not all periods in a year or in a day are suitable for deer hunting. Hunters are usually not encouraged to play their games at night or at dawn. This common sense rule is aimed at making sure that no hunter ever comes to harm.

This does not mean, however, that you can only show up at a specific time. You can always get to the hunting area early in the morning as long as you do not attempt to shoot any deer before the sun comes up. In fact, it is a good practise to arrive your area earlier, so that you can get yourself familiarized with the environment and position yourself at a favorable spot close to your target.

* Keep Hunting Until Sunset

Aside from showing up before sunrise, you should also keep hunting until the last rays of the sun are about to disappear. Late afternoons are a crucial time for both the deer and the deer hunters. Just like early morning, late afternoons are the time when hunters are likely to get good shots and many options to choose from.

The reason behind the importance of late afternoons is that the deers have to adjust their eyesight to the changing light. You can take advantage of this natural event as the deer may not be able to easily notice you. The deer also tend to gather together at this moment to get food and water.

* Have A Neutral Smell

You should keep in mind that you are going for hunting, not for party for dating. This means that you should just avoid using cologne, soap, perfume, shaving cream and other strongly scented products. Instead of attracting deers, these scents will only alert the deer that something does not smell right. The best practise is to have a neutral smell, so that you can get merged with the scents in your surroundings.

* Keep Quiet

To stay quiet at all times is probably the top tip even the beginners may know instinctively. As you may have seen in the nature channel, deers are very sensitive and alert. They can easily hear things and run away at the slightest sound. This means that you should not only keep your mouth shut, but also make sure that your movements do not create even the slightest rustles.

What was discussed in this article are great deer hunting tips for starters, but you should not stop here. There are more lessons for you to learn. Just remember to keep practicing and listen to what the more experienced have to say. It will not be long for you to achieve the success you have dreamed of.
