Costa Blanca Holiday Villas

If the only image of the Costa Blanca, Spain you have is one of high-rise concrete buildings and tourists lazing on the beaches, then you need to think again. Just by heading north away from places like Alicante and Benidorm you will come across a totally different landscape altogether. In this part of the region, you will find lush green hillsides and mountains and some really great holiday villas in Costa Blanca region for renting.

Here in the northern part of the Costa Blanca you will discover some beautiful Spanish villages, where life is much the same as it has been for many decades. Here it is that the villagers stick to their siestas each day and ensure that local customs remain part of their everyday life as well.

However, by renting a villa in this part of Spain it offers you the opportunity to see really how the Spanish live. Moreover, renting property is very easy as many Northern Europeans choose to buy second homes here because it has around 320 days of sunshine a year. So in order for them to maintain their properties they will rent them out when they themselves are not using them.

The main places where you are likely to find villas available to rent are in Denia, Javea, Orba Valley and the Jalon Valley. All of which provide you with the base you need for travelling to other parts of the region including if you want down to the coast where most other tourists travel. Below we look at just what places like Denia, the Orba Valley and the Jalon Valley have to offer to those visiting this part of Spain.

Denia is a small working town but has close by 20 miles of some of the most beautiful beaches which have been awarded a Blue Flag certificate. However, if you want something exciting to do whilst staying in Denia there are some great rock coves to the south of the town where you can go scuba diving. Here there is the 18th Century Castillo de Denia (Denia Castle), which dominates the town's skyline.

Though the town remains much the same for many decades now you can still find some great shops and cafes as well. Plus the indoor market is a must and provides the town with the same kind of atmosphere that you would expect in a city like Nice. However, do not think that for one minute that this is a quiet sleepy town, in fact here they enjoy their fiestas. They have many throughout the year and the biggest one of all is the Hogueras de San Juan that takes place during the latter part of June.

In the Orba Valley, which is further inland from Denia, you will find some more atmospheric villages. In these villages, time seems to have stopped, as you will find all the old men sitting out in the streets playing dominoes and the only women you are likely to see are those hanging out the washing on the balcony.

But it does not matter where you wish to stay in this part of Spain you are going to find it reasonably easy to rent a villa of your choice. When looking for holiday villas in Costa Blanca the best place to start your search is by going online. Select a number of different villa rental companies and then compare each property that they have to offer before you go ahead a book one.
