Holiday Homes in the Costa del Sol - Travel Tips

Of all the tourists destinations one can go to in Spain the most popular of them all is the Costa Del Sol which stretches along the Spanish coastline for more than 150km. The biggest reason for this particular area of Spain being so popular with tourists is that it offers good weather to them all year round.

This part of Spain is made up of two distinct areas stretching on either side of Malaga city. The eastern part covers only 54km of the coastline and starts on the eastern side of the Malaga Province capital heading towards Grenada.

Whereas the other 100km of the Malaga Province coastline stretches from Malaga city and ends up on the border with the Province of Cadiz. This is the part of the Costa del Sol where generally most tourists will go to when they stay in this part of the province.

The airport in Malaga is one of the busiest in the country and each year has more than 2 million visitors passing through its gates. These people will then head off to many of the resorts that stretch along the province's coastline the main ones being Nerja, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella.

Many people visit the Costa del Sol for spending time sitting on the beach and getting a sun tan, but it has plenty more to offer those who visit the area. This area of Spain has now become popular with golfers as they are able to play their favorite sport here all year round. Today Malaga Province has more than 70 good quality golf courses for players of all handicaps to enjoy and is now becoming known as the "Costa del Golf" as well.

But along with the golf there are plenty more activities one can enjoy from sailing, to scuba diving, to dolphin safaris and horse riding. Certainly if you want a little more excitement then a visit to some of the areas further inland should be considered.

If you are a keen rock climber then a visit to the area known as El Chorro only a short distance away from Malaga airport may be worth considering visiting. Certainly this is a location in Spain that has now become a very popular one with climbers from around the world and many come during the winter months to try and scale its heights.

However, if you would rather just sit back and relax and watch the world go by then a visit to Marbella, Torremolinos and Benalmadena should be considered. Here you can spend time on its beautiful beaches soaking up a few rays of the sun or wander into one of its many delightful beach side bars or restaurants.

Even though Malaga is very much a commercial city there are numerous things one can do and see during a day visit to the city. Along with wandering around the old port and quarter there is the Roman theatre and Moorish palace to be seen. Plus no visit to this city will be complete without taking in the Picasso Museum as this is the city where the artist was born and lived.

As you can see from above there is far more for one to do and see when holidaying on the Costa del Sol. Certainly if you want a fun filled holiday then this is a destination worth considering.
