Many motorcycle riders will wear a helmet even if it is not required in the state because of the safety features it offers. If a helmet is fitted properly for the wearer then he is much more protected in an accident that a rider who has chosen not to wear a helmet. Many people will purchase either the most expensive helmet or the cheapest helmet but the protection factors should be the most important thing when it comes to purchasing a motorcycle helmet.
Motorcycle helmets might be bothersome to many riders but take into account that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that there is an estimated chance that 40% for motorcycle riders who do not wear helmets to suffer a serious head injury. If that isn't enough there is also a 15% chance that a rider in an accident who is not wearing a helmet will suffer a fatal head injury. Those facts are more than bothersome, they are reality.
